SIMPLE FOODS TO EAT FOR BETTER RESULTS IN THE GYM.
As a professional figure athlete and ProComp coach, I am constantly researching nutritional strategies to give both my athletes and myself an edge and to ensure my nutrition moves me closer towards my goals. My goals are to create a healthier, leaner body with quality muscle and a fast metabolism.
Natural sugars from ripe tropical fruit, pulp free juices and raw honey are integral to this goal. I never believed eating such delicious, sweet, satisfying food would help deliver such great results.

SUGARS POST WEIGHT TRAINING.
Post weight training, cortisol levels (stress hormone) increase. Cortisol is the enemy of muscle gains as it breaks down muscle. Consuming sugars during and after training can reduce the cortisol response and reduce muscle breakdown.

Sugar is one of the most important regulators of protein syntheses post training. I recommend and write into nutrition plans chocolate milk post training and an orange juice mix during training.

SUGAR IS BENEFICIAL FOR MUSCLE EVEN WITHOUT TRAINING.
Even if you have not trained in the gym, eating simple sugars throughout the day will help maintain muscle and ensure the protein consumed is used for growth, recovery and repair.
HOW I EAT.
I eat natural simple sugars with every meal like fruit, juice and honey. I do this to ensure that I maintain a lean chiselled body and a healthy fast metabolism as well.
