Let’s start by setting the scene   I have been competing and getting “super lean” for 17 years.  It has always been a grind. I often found myself pushing harder, eating less, cutting carbs, feeling exhausted and struggling with cravings!!!!

I used to diet on very little food.  Low quantities of food robbing me of energy and health.  This ultimately slowed my metabolism and set me up for a constant cycle of weight loss and gain.

I then discovered the research of leading endocrinologist Dr Ray Peat and changed my strategy and started eating food that supported my metabolism and kept me hormonally balanced.  As my metabolism increased so did the amount of food I needed to eat to nourish by body.

ADOPTING THE RIGHT NUTRITIONAL APPROACH CHANGED EVERYTHING.

Not only does the right nutrition determine what I look like, but is crucial to my health, hormones, energy, longevity, digestion, mood and happiness. Body composition and body fat is also hugely influenced!!!

MY ACTUAL PRO-METABOLIC NUTRITION PLAN USED FOR THE FIRST TWO PHOTOS ABOVE.


• Sour dough toast, eggs, mushrooms & pulp-free orange juice.
• Grated carrot, coconut oil, raisins, vinegar and salt and ripe tropical fruit.
• Prawns, coconut oil, white rice and chocolate milk.
• Hard European cheese and ripe tropical fruit.
• Grass fed beef, white potatoes, butter, zucchini cooked in coconut oil and gelatin in orange juice.
• Pot set Greek yoghurt, gelatin, with stewed fruit and raw honey.

THEN WHEN I NEEDED TO DROP MORE BODY FAT…

When my body fat needed to really drop during the last few weeks coming into the show, I reduced the rice and potato starches and increased the tropical fruit and simple sugars to fuel my metabolic rate.  This change had me burning more fat and still gaining muscle!!!
